26 years later, Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson confirm “Good Burger 2”

The classic ’90s comedy is back and Paramount+ has commissioned a sequel to the movie “Good Burger.” Mitchell and Thompson return to play fan-favorite characters Ed and Dexter. The popularity of the sketches increased and they released a full movie in 1997 starring Mitchell and Thompson. After so many years since the original movie was released, fans have always asked for more, but there was no confirmation from the team. Recently, the duo was frequently seen together, sparking speculation from fans as they waited for confirmation of the sequel. Finally, the duo confirmed on a late-night show that “Good Burgers 2” will take place.

In a statement to indiewire, he said: “I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service at Good Burger was born! Being a part of something that so many generations of people have come to love has made me proud and now to be back where it all started working on the sequel is surreal,” he added, “I love acting with my brother Kel and I can’t.” I’ll look forward to showing fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”

Mitchell said in a statement: “Ed is one of those timeless characters who has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such a beautiful blessing to still be able to do so after all these years. It’s amazing to go back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching them and their children.”

According to the people behind “Good Burger 2”, “Dexter Reed is out of luck after another of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex to Good Burger with open arms and gives him back his old job. With a new team working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to recover, but unfortunately he puts Good Burger’s fate at risk once again.
