Kevin Costner Receives Favorable Court Ruling on Child Support

In a recent legal victory, acclaimed actor Kevin Costner found relief as the Santa Barbara County court ruled in his favor regarding child support payments to his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner. The court’s decision has substantially reduced Costner’s financial obligations.

Until now, Costner had been paying a temporary amount of $129,000 per month in child support, which was contested by Christine Baumgartner, who sought an increase to $248,000 per month. However, last week, Christine returned to court with a request to raise the monthly figure to $161,000.

Christine’s argument centered around providing their three children—16-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes, and 13-year-old Grace—with a “comparable lifestyle” to the one they enjoyed when she and Costner were still a couple. The couple had been married for 18 years before Christine filed for divorce in May, citing irreconcilable differences.

The recent court ruling has brought considerable relief to Costner, as his monthly child support payments have been significantly reduced to $63,209, nearly half of the previously contested amount. The decision appears to consider both the needs of the children and Costner’s financial situation.

The legal battle over child support has been closely watched by the public, given Kevin Costner’s status as a Hollywood icon and his substantial net worth. This ruling marks a significant development in the ongoing divorce proceedings between Costner and Baumgartner.
