NYPD Blue Child Star Austin Majors Found Dead

Austin Majors, best known for his role as Theo Sipowicz on NYPD Blue, died Saturday in Los Angeles at the age of 27. His fans and his family were shocked. His sister, Kali Majors, confirmed the news and provided a family statement, remembering him as “a brilliant, artistic and kind human being.” His cause of death has not yet been revealed.

His family said: “Austin was very happy and proud of his acting career.” “Since he was little, he never met a stranger, and his goal in life was to make people happy. He grew up in a small town where he loved to camp and fish with his family and the Boy Scout troop. He loved his dog, Sunny, and the horse he grew up riding, Balla.”

Kaali added, sharing her memories with her older brother and saying she will forever miss him deeply, “growing up on set with him, volunteering at events with Kids With a Cause and backpacking together. She further said: “He was the kind of son, brother, grandson and nephew to make us all proud, and he will be deeply missed forever.”

Austin Majors played Detective Dennis Franz and Sipowicz on NYPD Blue from 1999 to 2004. Majors’ performance earned him the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Television Series in 2002.

He is also a part of several TV shows and movies including Threshold, NCIS, The Ant Bully, American Dad, How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, The Price of Air, and Little Manhattan.
